The Beginning
We officially met the summer before senior year at Falmouth High School, however there is lots of evidence suggesting we met earlier in our childhood since our parents seemed to have frequented many of the same Falmouth events. Throughout high school we were in classes together, but never really socialized. Mike was trying to be a cool kid and Kristine was certifiably a nerd.
However once officially meeting, we became good friends very quickly. Sharing many of the same interests and both being very bored in school, we had lots to talk about (although at times talking was hard since Mike didn't get texting until halfway through senior year...). In February of 2010, Mike finally asked Kristine on a date. They went to see Dear John and ate at La Cucina Sul Mare. |
The Dating Years
That fall Kristine went off to MIT and Mike went to UMass Amherst. The four years of undergrad contained many weekend trips back and forth (although Mike really went to MIT far more frequently, often being mistaken for an MIT student). After graduation, we both decided to go to graduate school. Mike postponed his law school acceptance by one year so that he could move out to California with Kristine while she got her masters at Stanford University. Then in 2015, they moved back to Boston where Mike started law school at Boston College and Kristine started working. Mike graduated in 2018 and started working at a law firm in Boston. During our dating years, we traveled around the world going to Brazil for the World Cup, to Europe to ski and explore, and completed two cross country road trips. Mike learned to love camping and hiking while Kristine tried to learn to plan a little less and just enjoy all the moments.

The Engagement
We were in Cancun for what Kristine thought was a quick trip to escape the cold in Boston. Little did she know that Mike had a proposal planned! On our third day there we booked a swimming with dolphins experience. Dolphins have been Kristine's favorite animal for as long as a she can remember so she was super excited! For the last trick, we got out of the swimming area and stood on the dock to tell the dolphins to do jumps. Mike went first and was then given a cooler to give the dolphins some fish. Next, Kristine told the dolphins to do some jumps, but when she reached down into the cooler there was a ring! Then Mike got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!

And now
Currently we spend most of our weeknights playing volleyball or running while the weekends are spent traveling, hiking, camping, and seeing friends. We are both very grateful to have had so many wonderful opportunities and adventures together over the past nine years and look forward to many more together.
